A Well Awaited Family Vacation

Oh how wonderful it was to get away from the busy life and have a week to spend doing nothing but relaxing......

Ok so I still had to cook meals and feed the family, plus do just a little bit of laundry (only 8 loads which is a nice break) and even make one quick run to the urgent care for a minor head injury (yes that would be Carter again!).

It was still a great escape from reality for me. I even managed to fit in THREE bubble baths! Oh how wonderful they were!

First up are the sledding photos. This was great fun for the kids, I wish I could have participated myself but that was obviously not a practical thing for me to do considering.....

Ethan & Elliot...
going down the hill...

...then one of Elliot
Back at the top of the hill again with Daddy....
Ezra and Carter coming back up the hill........what a ride~
then down again!!!

A couple of wipe outs...................

watch out for those trees!

And last but not least is a photo of Jimmy and I in the snow!

Next are some great shots at the pool............

Seems a bit strange to see Ice Cicles and Snow outside the pool

Carter loved the baby pool

as did Elliot

Ezra of course was in the big pool.....

~oh what a face Carter~

OH MY, who gave Daddy their goggles?
I think they belong to Carter.............yikes!

Carter has a strong preference for who holds him.....even in the pool
this made me a bit nervous

Elliot and Ethan....
prepare to dive!

Eventually they work up to being in the big pool with their water wings on.....

All in all we had a great time on our trip to Fox River. If only it could have lasted longer.
It was nice to just kick back and do fun things for a while, this vacation tops our others by a long shot simply because when we got back I actually felt refreshed instead of like I needed a vacation from my vacation! LOL

Skating Party

Ezra decided that he did not want a party at the house this year (this was good for me considering) so we opted for one at the skating rink.......It turned out great. He had seven boys there and they had lots of fun. I was able to construct a skate cake which I though turned out pretty good.....

Ezra turns 11

I cannot believe that another year of being a mom has passed. Eleven years. WOW

Here are some shots from Ezra's birthday at home.

Carter's Materpiece

Oh the fun we can have with our markers..........Carter just could not keep the coloring limited to the paper. Green hair is such a fashion statement. Thank goodness Crayola makes their markers washable!!

Christmas 2006

Christmas in Egypt

Here are a few shots of my oldest three boys from the Christmas Pagent at church. The story was a bit different this year, it was about the birthday that Jesus spent in Egypt! Ezra and Ethan each had some speaking lines and Ezra had solo part in one of the songs. Elliot participated with the Preschool choir, which was wildly interesting to say the least.

My Two Chess Masters

On December 14th our school hosted a chess tournament and Ezra and Ethan both participated and placed in the top three! Look at those medals they won!

December 9th......

Jimmy and Ethan both had a Karate belt test on December 9th. Ethan earned his yellow belt with three stripes and his Daddy earned his third degree black belt! These were great accomplishments for both of them. Here are some pictures from this event.....

December 8th.......

We stopped at Bill's Barbershop for a whole mess of haircuts. That really adds up when you take four boys and your husband all in one trip! Carter did much better this time around, no tears!

Then we were off to get my early Christmas gift!
With baby number five due in the spring we decided
it was time to get an even bigger vehicle for me.
We chose a Suburban which is really large! It will
however fit our growing family well.......

Last for the day but not least was our Sunday School Christmas party which was loads of fun. We had a murder mystery dinner which was a blast! Here is a snapshot of us in front of the tree.......

Karate Chop.....

Here is the board that Ethan broke with his little elbow! He is so very proud of this accomplishment! This was just after Thanksgiving..........
(The updates are coming along now!)
